Making of: Day 3

location: Cetatuie

This was probably the day that went the most unexpectedly. The script and call sheet stated that we were going to film by the Somes River, but we were unable to do so because of a couple of reasons. Firstly, Edi didn't feel very safe filming in this location because there was a lot of traffic and cars passing by, and he didn't feel comfortable running at top speed around this. The bridge that went over the river was also a bit of a bust because it was full of people walking on it and it would've been impossible to film without bothering anyone on the bridge. So as a team we decided to think fast and find a new location. Right by the river, there are some stairs built into a hill leading up to Cetatuie which is this really rustic panoramic sort of park with a beautiful view of Cluj.

We automatically then changed the idea of the script a bit, and sort of went off track and had to improvise. We were able to get some really interesting shots that fit perfectly with the vibe of the opening. The only downside of this filming day is that it was very cold, cloudy and windy outside which affected our moods a bit, but other than that it was a very accomplished and productive day of filming. We were able to think fast and come up with solutions when we were faced with these specific problems, and overall the outcome is better than expected.

I believe this day was the day in which we filmed the most footage - we have a lot of material now to work with, even if improvised greatly. I believe we shall manage though, even with the sacrifices made throughout the filming process, we should be able to construct an interesting final product.
