Based on our chosen genre (psychological thriller) and our research into the 9 frame analysis, we've created a moodboard that we might use and take further inspiration from when creating our film opening.
We really enjoyed the red section of the moodboard - it's a very vibrant but at the same time holds a certain tone of uncertainty and suspense. Perhaps we will use some red props or incorporate an overlay of this colour. Dark blues, as well, are very suited to what we wish to create.
From the sources we could find, we have images/gifs from:
Suspiria (2018)
We Need to Talk About Kevin (2011)
American Horror Story - Murder House (2011)
Psycho (1960)
Parasite (2019)
Annihilation (2018)
Dark (2017)
Split (2016)
Donny Darko (2001)
Black Mirror - Metalhead (2017)
Georges Méliès - Playing Cards (1896)
Get Out (2017)
All of these above films/shows are either horror or thriller based, a majority of them focusing on the psychological aspects. This will prove very useful as inspiration and we will be able to directly compare any shots we film to these examples.
