The findings of our research show that the predominant demographic that have answered our questionnaire are within the age range of 16-18 (66.7%), followed by a couple 19-25 year olds (23.8%), the majority of these identifying as “male” (47.6%).
The results show that they watch videos sometimes (52.4%) and on YouTube/Net (95.2%), this gives us the valuable insight that if we were to go through with this music video task, that we should post it on YouTube as it has the highest likelihood of getting views. Keeping the genre to Rock or pop/indie would maximise viewership as reflected by our survey indicating that their favourite genre is Rock(76.2%) and second being Pop/Indie(52.4%).
To include/not include:
Same age demographic, we won't try to niche ourselves towards one gender, upload to the same platform(not tv), however we will stick towards hardcore hip-hop/synth-punk instead of rock and pop/indie.
Our idea for the video (before planning anything) consists of dynamic angles containing both still frames (photo-like) and dynamic camera angles. We thought of filming near rivers and various local areas, some with more grim and wrecked appearances such alleys between buildings, or near the train stations. This questionnaire helped us to further plan and sketch out our ideas; we will try to adapt to their responses in order to create the most effective MV.
